Louisville (Ky.) International Airport federal security director Bruce Brotman has been stripped of his duties and called back to Washington amid allegations he used his position to bypass airport security with a companion.

The 20-year FBI veteran, who was appointed to the post in May, is now awaiting an internal affairs investigation by The Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Brotman allegedly used his credentials to get himself and a female companion past security at the airport without being screened.

"Even the Secretary of Transportation has to stand in line," TSA spokesperson Chet Lunner told a Louisville newspaper. "The potential consequences could be serious."
