Government recruiting airport screeners

The federal government is recruiting passenger screeners for six airports: Anchorage, Alaska; Baltimore-Washington; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Louisville, Ky.; Mobile, Ala.; and Spokane, Wash.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin replacing private employees with federal workers in airports throughout the country this spring. Each candidate must be a U.S. citizen with either a high school degree or one year of full-time work in an airport screening or other security job. Current screeners can apply for the federal positions, which will range from $23,600 to $35,400 in salary.
The Aviation Security Act mandates that all airport checkpoints will be staffed with federal workers by Nov. 19.
