The state of Illinois will spend nearly $4 million to equip highway rest stops with security cameras and emergency call boxes.
The system will be operational in mid-October, according to an AP report. The call boxes will require just a single push of a button to alert authorities, which will also send images to the alarm monitoring center from adjacent cameras.
