The New Hampshire Department of Justice has chosen to install Homeland One, a statewide first responder training and communication network to be deployed at 607 sites across the state.
The sites are comprised of law enforcement, fire and emergency medical services agencies.
Homeland One's customizable training modules from Primedia Workplace Learning are modeled on National Interagency Incident Management Systems and based on the Department of Homeland Security's Office for Domestic Preparedness (ODP) First Responder Training Guidelines and Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) standards.
The Homeland One First Responder Network will be used to brief first responders in times of emergency. New Hampshire will receive four hours of broadcast time over the network each month that can be used for incident response, command briefing, or the coordination of resources across the state. New Hampshire is also the first state in the nation to be able to receive statewide secure communications directly from the Department of Homeland Security, which launched a similar network more than five years ago through Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
