.
The exercise is expected to check surveillance cameras from the Olympic Village to Athens' main port of Piraeus.
During the Aug. 13-29 Olympics, there will be security cameras on about 1,250 concrete columns that are nearly 40 feet tall. There also will be surveillance equipment on 12 patrol boats, three helicopters and what is being called a "security balloon." Organizers announced last week that they are increasing the security budget for the Olympics to $755 million.
