"In addition to the technology-related portion of our presentation, we believe we've addressed some of the key procedural and educational constraints that Congress and the security industry need to address in an effort to make our Homeland defense policies more effective," Abram said.
Abram's testimony covered a range of new technologies available for immediate deployment that can help fortify security operations at Federal facilities. Some of the technologies covered include:
-- CCTV technology that alleviates common backlight problems and highly contrasted objects within the same scene;
-- Day/Night technology that automatically switches CCTV cameras from black-and-white to color operation depending on available light levels;
-- hard drive recorders and archiving solutions;
-- matrix switching and hardware emulation software; and
-- networked security systems.
Abram also provided testimony on new iris recognition access control systems technology that is alleviating many of the security concerns associated with traditional access control devices. For more information visit Panasonic's web site at http://cctv.panasonic.com
