Siemens Buys Security Technologies Group

Siemens Building Technologies Inc., Buffalo Grove, Ill., an American affiliate of Siemens Building Technologies, Zurich, Switzerland, has acquired Security Technologies Group (STG), Sunrise, Fla., an electronic security systems integrator. STG maintains 40 service offices in the United States and employs 800 people. Siemens will incorporate STG into its existing security businesses under a new security systems division. Mark Landis, CEO of STG, will serve as president of the new division which will be located in Sunrise, Fla. Siemens' purchase of STG is part of the company's efforts to become a leading global security company. Siemens employs 34,000 people worldwide, including 6,500 in North America.
