More than 4,000 local, state and federal law enforcement officials and private security staff will keep watch over Sunday's Super Bowl in San Diego. The officers will also be keeping a close eye on pre-game parties and other festivities.

Security measures for Sunday's game will include metal detectors at entrances, CCTV surveillance throughout Qualcomm Stadium, flight restrictions overhead, emergency responders on alert, and tighter perimeter security. cVideo Inc., San Diego, will supply many cameras to cover the crowd as it moves in and out of the stadium.

Last year's Super Bowl, held just five months after the Sept. 11 attacks, saw security headed by the U.S. Secret Service. This year, the Secret Service is on stand-by, with local law enforcement taking on the bulk of the security functions.
