More than half of information technology executives at Fortune 1000 companies expect to underspend their budgets through the rest of the year, according to a recent Goldman Sachs survey of 100 IT executives.
A lack of spending across the IT board can severely impact the cyber-security market, despite a documented rise in Internet-type attacks. (Visit Internet attacks rising for more on rising Internet attacks).
The Goldman Sachs survey indicates that 34 percent of respondents say they will not return to normal IT spending levels in 2003. That number has increased from just 17 percent earlier in the year.
