Symantec expands security into handheld devices

Symantec on Monday announced a move into handheld security, introducing a line of consumer and enterprise applications for Palm OS and Pocket PC PDAs.
Designed to protect handhelds from viruses, worms and other malicious code, Symantec AntiVirus will provide continuous and on-demand scanning of a PDA. The Cupertino, Calif.-based company will also roll out LiveUpdate Wireless, a feature that allows users with a wireless connection to download virus information and Symantec product updates to their handheld.
