More than 70 percent of 935 surveyed IT professionals are "very concerned" about security over wireless networks, according to a recent survey conducted by ReefEdge Inc., Ft. Lee, N.J.
Only 2 percent of those polled said they were "not very concerned" about WLAN security, while 73 percent listed it as a top priority. In fact, more than half of that 73 percent has yet to even deploy a WLAN at their business. Security outweighed other factors such as mobility, cost, scalability and speed as the main concern for the professionals, which included network administrators, security officers and other IT-related positions.
