The 2.4GHz Eagle I model wireless FM video transmitter and receiver from Trango Systems, a division of Z Communications, San Diego, consists of the VTX2400 2.4gHz 4-channel transmitter and receiver, two omni antennas, two power adapters, a mounting bracket and the EagleLink Win95 interface program with interface cable. It transmits full-color NTSC- or PAL-compatible video, has two external user-defined alarms, an audio channel, low power consumption (12v DC at 200mA), received signal strength indicator mode and a serial data interface, all under microprocessor control.
A solid-state, high-resolution color camera and a black-and-white model, both equipped with 120v circuits, are being introduced to the U.S. by Sanyo's security video products division, Chatsworth, Calif. The VCC-3770 has a 1/3-inch CCD image sensor with 410,000 picture elements. Other features include a minimum illumination of 2 lux @ f1.2 lens, 470 lines of horizontal resolution, a multi-color mosaic filter, a TTL autowhite balance tracking system and a built-in variable electronic shutter. The black-and-white VCB-3100 has a 1/3-inch image sensor with 270,000 picture elements, minimum illumination of 0.1 lux @ f1.2 lens, more than 400 lines of horizontal resolution and a built-in, high-speed electronic shutter.
Unitized 1/3- and 1/4-inch color and black-and-white camera systems from Panasonic Video Imaging Systems Co., Secaucus, N.J., incorporate digital signal processing. Of the eight cameras in the line, four incorporate scene files that can be programmed to recall multiple events from memory. Up to 10 scene files can be assigned to any of the units' 64 presets. The systems incorporate a clear dome engineered for low distortion and omni-directional viewing, according to Panasonic, and cable compensation for multiplexed video, control and sync signals for distances of up to 3,000 feet.
The VideoBank DVR safety and security on-line monitoring and surveillance system features digital video recording with high-resolution image enhancement and selective image compression. New from Paradigm Advanced Technologies, Irvine, Calif., it enables cameras to record, store and play back full motion video. It is PC-based and Windows compatible. A graphical interface allows control over all security equipment, including cameras, sensors, locks and alarms. It also features pre-programmed scheduling, guard touring and automatic recording and notification during alarms.
The ICD-33 1/3-inch black-and-white high-performance CCD camera from Ikegami, Maywood, N.J., features: 380 TV line resolution and H. detail circuit; 0.2 lux sensitivity (f1.4); BLC back-light compensation on/off with adjustment circuit; AESC auto electronic shutter control 1/60 to 1/100,000 second for use with non-auto iris lenses; and mirror switch for reverse scanning of image. It accepts DC and video-type auto iris lenses via a side-mount, four-pin auto iris receptacle and comes with a 24v AC line-locked power transformer.
The GBC ColorSentry color BC-865-C, an indoor/outdoor weatherproof ball camera from CCTV Corp., S. Hackensack, N.J., can be angled plus or minus 90 degrees in any direction. It has more then 325 lines of resolution and a sensitivity of 0.4 lux. It also features a built-in electronic shutter, through-the-lens automatic white balance, a 6mm lens and a 12v DC power module.
The network version of RemoteWatch PRO combines on-line interactive video management, real-time video transmission and LAN/WAN network capability, according to manufacturer Alpha Systems Lab, Irvine, Calif. RemoteWatch PRO is a software-based digital transmission and storage system capable of recording, storage and playback of full-motion video.
A low-light miniature camera with a 3.6mm lens and a 2.4gHz wireless transmitter built into a fully functioning AM/FM clock radio, the NT1800 wireless covert video system from Nastechnologies, Venice, Calif., is FCC Part 15 approved. It has a range of 1,000 feet and features internal antennas and four user-selectable channels that allow more than one system to be used in close proximity. It includes the NT1700 receiver, which operates on 12v DC 350mA, and it has BNC 75 ohm and modulated RF channel three video outputs.
Samsung Opto-Electronics, Secaucus, N.J., has introduced a black-and-white CCD CCTV observation system featuring a 12-inch monitor with 800 TV lines of resolution, a built-in four-position sequential switcher and two-way audio from a speaker and a built-in condenser microphone on both the camera and monitor. Controls are mounted on the front panel with LEDs. The SOS-5M system includes a 1/3-inch black-and-white CCD camera with an 8mm lens. The camera is sensitive to 0.2 lux. It also features 380 lines of horizontal resolution, electronic auto iris and a shutter speed of 1/60 to 1/10,000 per second. Up to three cameras can be added to the system.
Compact 1/3-inch standard resolution CCD cameras feature digital signal processing. New from Philips Communication and Security Systems, Lancaster, Pa., the LDH0360 Series is compatible with multiple lens types and provides detailed video without lag, image retention, or geometric distortion, according to the maker. They require 0.15 lux and provide back-light compensation.
A full-featured, black-and-white quad with automatic and manual switching capabilities is available from DeltaVision, Quebec, Canada. The QD402 provides high-resolution (1024x512) with 256 gray scales. Real-time refresh rate ensures a fast picture update and eliminates stroboscopic effects, says the maker. It also features on-screen displays such as individual camera titling, time/date and video loss indication, and alarm inputs, looping outputs and individual input gain controls.
