VIDEO SURVEILLANCE GETS BIG VEGAS WYNN

Another fabulous resort hotel casting its new shadow on the Las Vegas strip means more surveillance.
The new Wynn Las Vegas casino and hotel, which opened April 28, features a massive security systen that will eventually become the largest fully digital video surveillance and security system of its kind.
“This is by far the largest single installation we have ever performed, or are even aware of around the world,” says Cynthia Freschi, president of North American Video, Brick, N.J., the installing company.
The integrated surveillance, security and alarm system was designed by M. Malia and Associates for Wynn Design and Development. North American Video performed and executed the design and installation with Fisk Technologies. The system features Honeywell Video Systems' Enterprise Solution integrated with a Video Blox matrix switching system.
The Honeywell system marries the resort's CCTV systems, matrix switches, digital video recorders, point-of-sale data, monitors and cameras. The Honeywell system was also integrated with a Lenel system.
The six million-square-foot resort features 2,700 hotel rooms, 19 restaurants, numerous retail shops, a convention hall measuring 223,000 square feet and an 18-hole golf course — all on 197 acres that used to be the Desert Inn Resort and Casino. Days before it opened, the security system received full certification from Nevada's Gaming Control Board.
